i hope theres a new mac mini soon id plan to get one but i plan to put boot camp on and play my matrix online and i pray this version does not have shared graphics cause for my game it is herendus playin the game

I predict:
iLife '07 - 'Coverflow' integrated into iWeb and iPhoto, new & improved iWeb features, more themes for iMovie and iDVD.
iWork '07 - Pages and keynote updated, plus a spreadsheet app to take over from the now defunct Appleworks.
An extended Leopard preview, some new features and possibly a new UI(?)
iPod and iTunes - more movie studios added to the store, also available outside the US, slight revision to iPod range (increased storage?) - full-screen iPod event to follow in a month or two for full media coverage effect.
iTV - named and demoed, available today (but shipping in a month!)
One more thing - the Apple phone (all of those rumours must mean something)

The prices in CompUSa will be dropped on Friday for what they may actually have in stock. They have been constraining them for the past couple weeks. All I have is the display core duo and one box stock core solo. Alot of the apple employees who work in the CompUSAs had extra days off this week due to the holiday (much needed) so they may not have been back into CUSA to let the staff know.

I think getting a cheaper older model of Mac mini would be great, if the prices were right. It would be a great starter machine for someone that really doesn't care about having the lastest and greatest.

I learned to drive a stick when I was about 25. I had no choice, I bought a new car that was a stick. It was rather easy to learn.
Funny memory about the night I picked up my new car that I never forgot. The dealership gave me a coupon for a free tank of gas. There was a steep hill on the way out of the gas station, so the car kept rolling backwards. Luckily it was late in the evening, so no one else was around. I think it took me 3 or 4 tries to figure it out. :D

Yeah it'll really be interesting to see what the res of the movies'll be. And SJ is only like, the biggest shareholder in Disney, so no, I did not expect them to be FULLY on board :rolleyes:
Note that Jobs has only about one out of 18 of Disney's shares, and as a board member he's legally bound to do the best thing for the other "17" owners.
Jobs could be roasted for cutting a deal that's bad for Disney. Can you say "fiduciary responsibilities" and "conflict of interest" in the same sentence?

While Apple is targeting professionals and pro-sumers, they know they need to still compete. Their prices on laptops are WAY off.
The macbook is very competitive for it's size and portablility. Compare it to a similar Vaio or IBM. You'll be surprised.

Seriously, if I were to upgrade my current Mini(which is from early 2006) with a new CPU, I wouldn't be that far behind the current Mini is CPU performance(of course the GPU would still smoke mine.
Thats not a common event in Apple's line up. Although it speaks nicely about Intel supporting sockets for a decent amount of time.
But thunderbolt, sandy bridge and the new design(which makes some stuff easier, some harder for me when it comes to upgrade, but looks so sexy!) make an upgrade to the new Mini a no brainer for me. Heck even the CPU will be a great step up from the Intel GMA 950!

How reliable is MacOSXrumors?
In the past they haven't been particularly notable, but the Leopard reports seemed real, and so this one is given more credence. Obviously, we'll know more on Sept 12th. :)

So are Mac apps sold though the App Store expected to keep all assets in their respective bundle, and not utilize Application Support? Would this uninstaller method remove files not in the app's bundle? What about preferences?
p.s. I think a lot of people are overreacting to this. Remember when everyone was all up in arms with the fear that the Final Cut rewrite would be a dumbed down iOS style iMovie? Well, instead it looks awesome. Yes, it borrows from iOS and from iMovie, but it takes the best parts of those to make a better, more powerful, and at the same time, easier to use, product. Hopefully Apple is doing the same in regards to Lion. Have a little faith!

Yeah! I was looking at a bunch of minis for a rendering farm, and given the SSE performance improvement over the yonahs (the Pentium-M series have been weak in FP traditionally) this should be fun.

You won't see a blu-ray or HD-DVD burner in a Laptop (erm, notebook) for some time. Why? Simple; the battery would drain before it could burn a full disk.
We'll have to wait for at least 4x burning, probably a lot more though, before we see em in laptops.

Maybe they are rare where you live. In the UK and the rest of Europe they are more common that automatics.
Wow, here in New Zealand you never see new manual cars (unless they're some sort of heavy duty utility vehicle or a utility van). Regular road cars are all automatic now...

I'm not trying to bash the Zune, but I don't think Microsoft is going to be able to hurt Apple's Market share, it's too late in the market. With Apple having 75% of the market share of the MP3 music players with no sign of it droping.

Vista sucks, there is very little incentive for people to upgrade. Leopard will ROCK, is a lot faster then Tiger and has a lot of new functionality.
Take a pill... Vista may not better than Tiger, but it certainly is better than XP.
