NPR video was dishonestly edited

What a surprise.

Who claims that? Would you believe Glenn Beck's website?

Last week when the news of the NPR execs caught on tape came out, I urged everyone to wait until we saw the unedited tape because the guy who did this has a history of dishonestly editing tape.

He did it again with this NPR tape.

Just like last time, the editing was done to the people meeting with NPR. For instance, at no point do they say they are with the Muslim Brotherhood. That is added in later in the narration. Nice.

The part where the executives seem nonchalant about the imposition of Sharia Law turns out to be the executives being nonchalant about a restaurant reservation. HUGE DIFFERENCE.

The thing he got in trouble for the most was his ripping of conservatives, but in the raw video he also says that he himself was a Republican, and believes himself to be a fiscal conservative. Nice.

When he calls the Tea Partiers racist, he's actually recounting what two top Republicans told him. HUGE DIFFERENCE.

The part where he said that liberals are more educated than conservatives is also incredibly selective. In fact, the other executive there strongly defends the intellect of conservatives. Is that important? What do you think?

Does NPR need funding? In the video that was released he says they would be better off without it in the long run. In the raw video he goes to great lengths to insist how important that money is needed in the short term for all of the local stations, and how strongly they are fighting to keep it. Sheesh.

And finally, remember how I said "look out for the way he edits the audio"? There's an unexplained 1:24 that is completely gone from the raw audio too.

Despite all this, Glenn Beck's website still thinks it's fair because the end justifies the means (I kid you not). Fred Barnes of the Weekly Standard says it was unethical, although Barnes qualifies that too, by saying it was a "political hit job and a quite clever and successful one at that."

The bottom line? It did what it set out to do, got the head of NPR to resign, and doomed the funding of NPR.

Never mind that it was a complete scam...AGAIN. Ethics, schmethics. Truth, schmuth.

And they've got all the incentive in the world to do it again, with their side cheering them on even after it comes out that it was unethical and untrue.
